What is a Registered Agent?
A North Carolina registered agent is an individual resident or a registered business that accepts service of process and official notifications (such as annual report notices from the NC Secretary of State), lawsuit or other legal paperwork, on behalf of clients. North Carolina law requires every business entity to designate a North Carolina registered agent. A registered agent must maintain a physical address within the state and keep regular business hours.
How can Postmarked help me?
As your mailbox provider we want to help keep you in compliance with state law and are now offering a new Registered Agent Service. This service is $12.00 per month and is in addition to any mailbox or shipping fees. If we are not listed as your Registered Agent of record we are not required to accept legal paperwork on your behalf. If we choose to accept the legal paperwork on your behalf your fees could be $100 or more for each occurrence, so signing up for the registered agent service saves you a ton of money and ensures that we will accept legal paperwork on your behalf anytime it arrives.
Pricing
All of our plans cover one legal entity. There is an additional charge for multiple legal entities:
One-Time Setup Fee: $49.00
Monthly Plan: $12.00 per month/per legal entity
Annual Plan: $119.00 per year/per legal entity (save 17% over the monthly plan)

By signing up above you agree that Postmarked will make an immediate charge to your debit/credit card which includes a one-time setup fee and your first month’s subscription fee. After your initial payment, your debit/credit card will be charged on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you chose.
